I arrived on Thursday, march 6 at San Francisco International one hour ahead of schedule. We touched down at 5:30 pm after 12 hours of choppy flight. Well...not all 12 hours were that bad but being the white-knuckle flyer that I am, every single movement is choppy to me. The flight was full. Not sure where all those people were coming from (or going to!).
It was refreshing to arrive in San Fran in 60 degree weather. Especially since we left 10 days ago in the heels of a huge snowstorm. And Manila was always cloudy, humid and raining!!!
Friday was spent at the Philippine Consulate in downtown San Fran. I took the BART from Millbrae close to the hotel where I stayed. It cost $8.00 roundtrip and parking at the station was free. I was glad I did since I wasn't looking forward to driving around downtown looking for parking. The train ride took 30 minutes and a 4-block walk from Montgomery Station. I left downtown around 2 pm, got back to Millbrae half an hour later and was on my way back to Tahoe by 3:00 pm.
With weekend traffic clogging the freeways in almost every city I drove through, it took me 5 hours to reach home. At around 8, I was pulling in our driveway. I called Diane to let her know I was home and to bring my baby around. Diane thought it would be better if she brought Nikita the next day so I can rest. I went back home early for my dog!!!! I want her home now. It was really sweet of her to want to keep Nikita longer.
