HAPPY 70TH BIRTHDAY, DAD!

Today, my Daddy turned 70! In dog years, we are the same age. My mommy is busy preparing for the special birthday dinner so I decided to do the blog posting today. Bet you didn't know I could do that, huh? I am a superdog!!!

Here are a few photos of my daddy's birthday breakfast. Mommy baked a banana walnut muffin last night and decorated it with stuff that you can find in an island. She made this really tasty sugar free frosting but she put it only on one side of the cake because Daddy doesn't really like frosting.

This morning, Daddy got a special birthday phone call from Eric, Matthew's best friend. That was really cool and Daddy really liked that.

For his breakfast in bed, Mommy made Swedish pancakes with Lingonberries, scrambled eggs with tomatoes and spicy hot links sausages. Yummy! I begged all morning to have a taste but Mommy said no. But she gave me ground beef with string beans and rice with my food because it is a special day. I love birthdays! I wish everyday is Daddy's birthday!

Mommy got him his present a long time ago. She bought this wine furniture so Daddy has a place to keep his wine glasses and bottles in the kitchen. She really hates it when Daddy leaves the wine bottles by her stove.

You know what I got him for his birthday? The best T-shirt in the world! It says " 70 is seven perfect 10s". I don't really know what it means but Mommy said it's cool.

That's it for now. I will post again later to show you the sumptuous dinner Mommy is preparing. Now it's time for my nap.....

BIRTHDAY DINNER

I'm back! Mommy was out all afternoon shopping for the dinner. She had to wait and clean the other car because our car got burglarized. Somebody broke the window on my Mommy's side while we were walking at Fiesta Island. Nothing was stolen (I am so glad they didn't get my food bowl and my toys!) but it was not much fun. We have to take it to the car shop to be fixed tomorrow.

So, Mommy got back home late and then had to rush to prepare dinner. She also got some beautiful flowers but I think she forgot about it. Look at her pictures...she didn't even change her clothes for dinner. But look at those lobsters ----
all 8 lbs of them! They look so heavy!

She made STEAK AU POIVRE and STEAMED LOBSTER WITH GARLIC BUTTER. There was also some home made COLESLAW which is a new recipe she was testing.

I still got my beef for dinner so everybody is happy. And I get to clean up my Daddy's hands after dinner. I had to do it fast because Mommy doesn't like it when Daddy lets me do that. Wow! That was some dinner they had.

Tune in next time for the big party on Saturday. More island food and lots of fun because Mommy's friends are coming to help decorate and cook.

I can't wait....
