I was going to post these pictures yesterday-- all taken at Colleen's birthday party at Ed and Beate's Stonehenge mansion at Hidden Woods -- but we had to leave a day early for San Francisco because of the snowstorm forecast. We were watching the weather forecast early Saturday morning and all they talked about was "up to 5 feet of snow" in the Sierras. Well... since we were already packed and "almost" ready to leave, we decided to drive to Sacramento, stay the night and wait out the storm and then drive to SFO the next day.
With Niki all set and comfortable at her dogsitter Diane's place, we left at 1:00 pm on Saturday. It was already snowing on HWY 50 over Echo, Twin Bridges and Kyburz. Cars were moving at 5 MPH but visibility was still good. By the time we reached Placerville, the rain was already pouring down but the wind was still calm. We finally reached Folsom and decided to stay at the Best Western over at Rancho Cordova. We quickly stopped at Costco, got some food, went back to the hotel and watched TV.
Anyway... here are the photos. It was a FUN party and the food was absolutely delicious. I even got the Brie recipe from Gretchen (who by the way decided to hurt her foot even before we could ski together at Heavenly!!).
BEATE AND ED....Thank you very much for that wonderful party. We really enjoyed it!!!
