Wine was flowing nonstop and once or twice he asked if I wanted Gin & Tonic or Vodka knowing what a white-knuckle flyer I am. I took a sleeping pill which of course didn't work. Lucky for me, the flight wasn't bumpy.
Every morning, we had breakfast at the Makati Sports Club Pattiserie. I'll have Filipino Breakfast with fish and he'll have longanisa breakfast. We'd look over the olympic size pool while eating (the Pattiserie is by the poolside) and wished we were swimming instead of meeting with several people a day. Oh well...
Because of the time difference, I'm usually asleep all afternoon and awake in the middle of the night (more like early hours of the morning). I'd walk over to the 7-Eleven store around the corner and grab some sandwiches, rice topping or whatever special dimsum they have. That store is open 24-7 and is always full of people. Call Center workers taking their break sit and chat just outside the store or even inside. You wouldn't notice it's 3:00 am! And if you want a strong cup of coffee (flavored or not), across the street is Starbucks. A few steps away and you can grap a few pieces of fried chicken at KFC--also open 24 hours. And so is McDonalds a block from KFC. I love their Taro Pie and the Rice Breakfast Burger. Instead of meat patty, they made garlic rice patties topped local sausage and eggs! Yumm!
