IN COPENHAGEN FOR A NIGHT

We finally arrived in Copenhagen and staying at the Radisson Royal SAS which is just right across the central train station. We are taking the SJ high speed train to Tranos tomorrow which will take only 3 hours from Copenhagen Central. In the meantime, our hotel room looks over the world famous TIVOLI GARDENS. I remember the first time I visited Denmark was years ago and Matt took me to Tivoli gardens. All I can remember then were the beautiful flowers and the wax museum. Now from our hotel room I see the different rides similar to Six Flags in the US. Anyway, I knew I had to have the food that always reminds me of Copenhagen --- streetside hotdogs!

We took a short walk at city center, enjoying the unusually warm day. The first thing we noticed are the typical American fastfood chains. So we went in and checked how much a Big Mac costs. One BigMac meal is DKK58.75 which is approximately USD12!!! Next door is Burger King and the whopper meal which they call WHOPPER PEPPER is DKK57.85. Wow! Don't they have any dollar menus?? We spotted a list called COIN OFFERS which we assume are the equivalent of the dollar meals. You can get a Chicken Wrap for DKK15 or a Whopper Pepper Junior for about the same.

So off we go to search for another hotdog instead. A hotdog starts at DKK16 with all the trimmings (mustard, ketchup, pickles, fried onions) and an addition DKK4 for the hotdog bun. There's also a 7-eleven in every corner so we went in to get a large bottled water which is DKK19.95 (about $5).
